Firework safety

Whilst many of us enjoy the celebration and traditions of Guy Fawkes night on 5th November, please make sure your pets are safe and be considerate of pets and other animlas in your surrounding area. It's not just dogs that get frightened by the noise!

As Bonfire Night celebrations are set to last all over the weekend, here is some simple advice to keep your dog (and other pets) safe.

Before darkness falls
Walk your dog earlier in the day before it gets dark and fireworks are let off.

Keep your pets indoors
Make sure all windows, doors, cat/dog flaps are closed and don't let your pet outside unless on a lead.

Stay with them
Dont leave your pets alone on the night of a big firework event - have at least one family member stay with them. Keep the curtains closed, the TV on and carry on exactly as normal.

DAP Diffusers
DAP stands for Dog Appeasing Pheromone. A DAP diffuser simply plugs into your home and releases a synthetic copy of the natural canine appeasing pheromone which has been proven to calm dogs in stressful situations such as firework night.
