Working 23 is ideal for working dogs

Skinner’s have been manufacturing pet food for nearly 50 years and in that time have developed a selection of diets specifically formulated for active, working dogs who need a balanced and complete diet to support their energy requirements. In particular, our Working 23 is a firm favourite with many working dog handlers and active dog owners whose dogs require a nutritious fuel to help them stay fit and active.

Developed for active dogs

Working 23 is a complete, dry dog food that has been developed to support the day-to-day energy requirements of working and active dogs of all breeds. In particular, Working 23 is ideal for dogs with moderate energy requirements, making it a popular choice for working gundogs, herding dogs, agility dogs and active pet dogs. Our recipe uses highly palatable meat meal to provide a source of protein for growth, repair and regeneration in the body, as well as a careful balance of digestible carbohydrates for quick release energy. Essential fats and oils in the diet also help to support a moderate energy output as well as help maintain a healthy coat and skin. Working 23, like all of our other diets, is also balanced and complete, meaning it provides all the important nutrients a dog needs without requiring additional supplementation.

Feeding advice

For adult dogs, we ideally advise splitting their daily ration into 2 meals as this can improve the overall digestibility of the meal and help provide the full nutritional benefit.  If you would like to know how much to feed your dog, try our online feeding guide, which can provide an estimation based on your dog’s unique requirements.

Is this the right diet for my dog?

Working 23 is suited to:

  • Any dog who might benefit from a ration of moderate energy density to support activity and working output.
  • Any dog with a consistent activity level of moderate to high intensity, such as working gundogs, herding dogs, agility dogs and active pet dogs.
  • Active dogs with no sensitivities to wheat or maize gluten.
